Abstract:
This dataset is the spatial representation of the Queensland waste levy zone as defined under the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011 and Waste Reduction and Recycling (Waste Levy) Amendment Regulation 2019.The waste levy zone includes 39 out of 77 local government areas. Of these 11 LGA's are considered Metro Zones and 28 are considered Regional Zones.

Supplemental information: Queensland’s waste management and resource recovery strategy provides a strategic framework to reduce the amount of waste we generate and grow the resource recovery and recycling industry, and create new jobs. This is underpinned by a waste levy, which commenced on 1 July 2019. The levy zone includes 39 local government, as listed in the Queensland Waste Reduction and Recycling (Waste Levy) Amendment Regulation 2019 (Schedule 2).
